Summer Begins!

Summer has officially begun in our house! And that means BBQ's with friends, vacations, lots of time outside, long nights, and being just plain old busy busy busy!

I bought a new pool for Jack and it came in the mail today. He hasnt been too into his bigger real pool but loves to splash around in this little pool mat thing that squirts water. And he uses all the inflatable pieces as punching bags. Haha.
It's always more fun with cousins!
Boys will be boys. They went through two cartons of the firework pop-its in like 5 minutes. I wasnt sure if Jack would be scared of them if he stepped on them or if he popped them in his hand on accident but he was stepping on them bare feet and squishing them with his fingers no prob!

And then Izzy decided she needed to pull her tooth out. Haha!! Never a dull moment.

The evening was followed by a BBQ at friends. There's 8 kids between us four girls!

 The men. :)
Trying to get a picture with all the kids looking proved to be more difficult that it seemed...

 Just the girls!
And a classic- Briggy and Jack fighting over the swing. Lol!! One day they will look back and laugh at this I'm sure.

Happy Summer!

Easter 2014

Easter this year was a lot of fun with our crazy little man. Jack and I were both sick with colds but that didnt stop us from partying all day and eating lots of yummy food and candy! :o)

I cannot get over how freaking adorable Jack looked in his little suit. I want him to wear one everyday. Seriously! I love how we all were wearing blue for Easter and didnt even plan it. haha!

Baby Sprinkle for Whit!

I always love a good reason to throw a party~ and my good friend Whitney is welcoming baby #3 next month so we threw her a "sprinkle" to help supply her with some necessities! I love spring parties because you can use fun colors and pretty flowers and great food. :)

Happy Shower Day Whit!

19 Months Old!

19 months old and a full blow toddler BOY. Into everything, HIGH energy, battles with mommy, soaking everything in, trying to be independent, FUNNY little guy. This stage is both exhausting and adoring. I coudln't imagine what my life would be like without my ginger haired little boy though! I love him to the moon and back, always and forever. :o)

  • You weigh 26 lbs
  • You've just moved into 24 month clothes as the 18 month shirts are getting a little short on you
  • You wear size 6/7 shoes. BIG feeet!
  • You have four top teeth and four bottom and just had a molar in the back pop through this week.
  • You're toddler tantrums have been fun lately. (not!)
  • You have been going through another "mommy" phase where you need me ALL the time, but I think we might be coming out of that a little. (You made it through nursery at church without crying last week~ that's a start!)
  • When you're not trying to get what "you want" and telling the whole world about it you are as sweet as can be
  • You have an amazing amount of energy and love to laugh and run around
  • You have an obsession with all things tools and love to fix things
  • You also have an obsession with cars and are constantly wanting to drive
  • You're favorite movie (which we watch daily) is Barnyard
  • You also like Mator's Tales, Bo on the Go, and Madagascar
  • You love to read books
  • Binky's and Blankey's are still your favorite comfort items
  • You drink milk 3 times a day... yes I still let you in a bottle. Who cares! :o)
  • You LOVE to brush your teeth
  • You have to help me do everything lately- cook, clean, do laundry. Such a big helper.
  • Dancing is a favorite activity.
  • You take 1-2 naps a day depending on when you wake up in the morning. If its 8:00 or later you can make it until 1:30 without a nap and then will sleep for about 2 hours. If you wake up before 8, then you'll take an hour or an hour and a half nap at 10:30, then another hour and a half to two hour nap at 2:30. Mommy LOVES this.
  • Your bedtime is still at 8:30 pm.
  • You're still a great eater. You love everything.
  • Candy is an obsession. You wake up asking for it. Ha!
  • You're babbling and talking constantly now! Waiting for the words and little sentences to start forming soon.
  • So far you can say these distinguishable words: mama, dada, papa, gaga (grandma), Gah (Duke), caca (candy), baba (bottle), vroom, boom, ball (ball-ball), Nala, Mow-mow (mower), Cracker, Nana (banana), Tractor, bye bye, hot-- i feel like I'm forgetting some though.
  • You make a ton of animal noises
  • You know most of your body parts and can point to them when asked
  • You make a fort daily with all the blankets and pillows you can find
  • You still try sometimes to use the potty, but we arent really pushing that issue too much yet

Toddler Boys and Sleepover Fun!

Oh these two little boys are something else!
Such fun, SUCH a handful, such love for them. They had a sleepover this week and had lots of fun together. They don't always see "eye to eye", but the always enjoy seeing each other and are sad when its time to go.
It will be fun to watch them grow up together and see the boys and men they will become!

Mid-Week Randoms

Not a whole lot of excitement around here lately, but we are happy just living life as our little family of three right now. Dreaming of warm weather and summer vacations and spending time outside. One more month of winter!!!

Jack's new favorite place to play is in the dryer. (I know- horrible parenting right?) Don't worry, I don't leave him alone in there and he can't open the door by himself. (yet!) This makes doing laundry an extra long affair, but he feels like he's helping and that's what matters! I usually let him throw in the clothes into the washer or dryer to get him involved and he thinks its fun. He probably wont be thinking its fun in a few years! :o)

Our pantry has a lock on it, but when he wants a snack he will open it up as far as it will go and start asking for stuff! haha! Silly boy. As you can see, we spend most of the time sans clothes, even in the dead of winter. He'd be naked all the time if I would let him! He tries really hard to sound out things like candy and snacks but he hasnt quite got it down yet. He can say cracker. Unfortunately candy comes out as ca-ca. Haha!!
I LOVE walking into the room and seeing him sitting and reading to himself. So so cute. I'm glad he likes books and hope he keeps loving it throughout the years!

We are trying really hard to dress ourselves lately which is super frustrating to Mister Jack since he hasnt mastered any of it yet. He's getting closer with the socks though. He has zero patience which is working against him! He tries to put on shoes almost everyday and when he finishes unsuccessfully putting his own shoes on, followed by crying and throwing of the shoes and rolling on the ground, he moves onto mine. He found a pair he can put on AND walk in all by himself- moms heels! :o) I thought it was hilarious.

Happy Wednesday!
